Water getting in - drivers side door seal carpet

Guest

I have noticed in the wet weather of late that that water seems to be getting in through the driver's door bottom sill and the carpet lining on the door rim at the bottom is soaking wet. If I run my finger along the bottom of the door then water drips of the inner carpet lining. However passenger side is OK.

Has anyone else come across this? I suspect it may be the rubber seals or something. Also any help you can give to sort this out? - may have to go to OPC or my local independent to get it checked out.

Any advice would be much appreciated as would like to get it sorted asap.

Many thanks.

Does the membrane have rips or tears. Suggest you first check with a specialist as to how to disable the door airbag.
Also check the seal on the bottom of the door, mine was twisted through 360 degrees

Careful taking the door panel off - there's an explosive device in there! (Airbag).

Elliot, did you do yours yourself? Any hints?

Very true Mark []
Cant the door card be unclipped at the bottom then ?
that way a torch could possibly see up into the darkness and see if there is any tears in the membrane ?

never had issues with the airbags when i did ice installs in previous cars, but i did use to pull the fuse just in case !!

Make sure the drain holes in the bottom of the doors are clear. It sounds like you have water collecting in there.
