In case anyone ever finds water in their boot, this might help you out.
I found that the front end of the main chassis runner on the N/S had a tiny hole in the seam sealer, allowing water to seep into the runner & into the boot. You can check that the runner's dry because it has a nice big inspection hole in it, although you have to remove the front wheel arch cover to inspect it. Here's a pic of my repair - not beautiful, but this will all be covered by the bumper skin (which I have decided to have resprayed whilst it's off).
