Guys .... Can someone put my mind at rest please ... I have noticed a couple of small water marks on garage floor. They are central to the car and the forward one is approx 2-3 feet from front, the second is toward the back, and I think that one is condensate from the Air Con ... Its the front one that worries me. Any ideas ? Image

Water .... Panic

The front one is most likely the aircon condensate, or water from the front drains. It is the rear one which may be more of a concern, although it might just be condensate from the front which has worked its way rearwards on the undertray, and dripping off the back. Is the water clear, or coloured? Coolant will be pinkish or greenish, and feel slightly oily to the touch.
Where exactly is it dripping at the rear? If it is left hand side, and close to the back, it could be your coolant tank.

Image - this may not be a problem if your car has been out in the rain?
There are drain holes at the front and rear or there are on my cab anyway.
The front drains are located in the battery bay and need clearing out occasionally as debris builds up.
The rear drains are a bit trickier as they drain out in the rear wheel arches.
Water on the floor may indicate your drains are working OK but it's worth checking the rears in particular as you'll see a few posts on here about damp seat / carpets caused by blockages.
I'm sure someone on here can provide a diagram.

Thinking further Richard H you may be correct, The water around back area, could be from the front condensate depositoing its load as I backed car out of garage, thanks for your informed reply. Car is due its annual service Friday, so will add it to a list of things for technician to check. Fluid was clear and had no obvious smell, taste or colour. I get a bit paranoid about the car, some of contributors to forum seem to have such bad luck. Image

Easy to forget that you are much more likely to hear from those with problems and not those who are completely happy.
It's easy to get a skewed view in a negative direction of the whole picture on the forum, the main purpose of which is to help solve problems (and which it does rather better than most, hence the numbers of problems posted).

Thanks for confidence builder, It is a great forum with very informed opinion. Richard H, I like your choice of colour for your latest purchase. I have Guards Red Carerra Cab .... It is a 2001 (November) registered 2002 Facelift model, now having covered just 27000 miles, it is absolutely immaculate, I did have one expensive time when an oil breather pipe imploaded, and required engine out to replace ( Pipe was only £37.00) !!!, but took opportunity to replace RMS and intermediate seal, and all perishable items ( Hoses etc) - a lot easier to do when engine on the bench. Great cars, great fun.

Know what you mean about the worry though.
Thing is you will only ever hear of th bad things and not so much of all the fun hours in her []
Let us know how it turns out
