Having the IMS done and am also swapping out the water pump and AOS. Have been offered a couple of different options on the water pump, one is Geba the other Meyle. Has anyone any knowledge on these brands please.

Both brands are offered by Design911 as replacements so I would think either would be fine. I fitted a Geba water pump to my car and its working fine.

I think there’s only a £20 difference but the Meyle has a plastic impeller which seems to be the preferred fix. Thanks for your help.

Paul,

There's a lot of online 'chatter' about the advantages and disadvantages of both - plastic vs metal impeller - with wild speculation about plastic impellers disintegrating and metal impellers machining the block housing. If you're not going to go with a Porsche approved part I think you just pay your money and take your choice.

To assist you in the choice, it might be worth finding out if the Porsche part has a plastic or a metal impeller.

Just to throw something else into the mix, Pierburg is another coolant pump supplier.

Jeff

Decided to go with the Meyle with the plastic impelle, time will tell.

thanks for your advice, much appreciate.
