I'd say you got blocked sunroof drainage tubes. Soft cotton pipecleaner and somes sink disolvent and check to see if theres old leafs and other crap around the under the bonnet where the wipers are. Can't remember what the 993 is like.
Better get your hair dryer out[:D]

Mark I had the same problem and with me it was the front screen, water coming in under the seal. Have you had the screen changed? If yes then this is a very likely culprit.

Good luck

John

On the way back from the open day I had a fairground lorry weaving about in front of me then throw up a large stone which has made a 2inch diameter impact circle and cracks are already starting. I propose to replace screen. As I have seen so many stories of badly fitted ones what do you advise as the best route?

I had water logging in the rear footwells. It was coming from blocked sunroof drains. Easy enough to clear. Front two are accessed from open roof. Rear two are accessed from internal roof-lining zip.

James.

hi DW49.........
for the love of god dont just go to a windscreen specialist. ( like i did )
go to an O.P.C. or recognised porsche specialist.
if something goes wrong, ,as happened it seems in my case you will be able to screem a little louder

Thanks Mark. I have spoken to PCT and they assure me they have a good fitter and will do the tapes/creaking as well. Checked it out with insurers and they OK so thats route I am planning at moment unless anyone advises against.

Hi
I had a front screen replaced by Autoglass and touch wood all is ok. However, I made sure that the bloke who came to fit it had done a few Porsches before. Apart from a bad fit they can also brake the rear view mirror getting that off, and when they ease out the speedo to get to the arial connector behind they can scratch the facia. If the bloke who arrives the fit your screen doesn't look like he is aware of this I suggest you send him back and ask for another.
Good luck.

cheers Peter,
They seem to have got the screen sorted after their THIRD attempt.
Mind you , i insisted that i stand over their shoulder whilst they were doin it.
p.s. just to really p*ss them off i insisted on a new screen and seals.

Isn't it disturbing that when you have worries about life in general, you can usually find experiences recanted on this forum to maintain your anxiety over the wellbeing of your car, life and everything (42).

Anyway, I managed to crack (a council verge trimmer managed to crack!) my Boxter S screen for the fist time in its life yesterday whilst travelling to the gym (if the concept of having only two points in contact makes your nervous, pretend I was going from A to B) - its a new screen for sure. I have all leather and the car has only done 17k. I have an OPC nearby (Towcester) and an Autoglass in Banbury. I was already and am still inclined to take it to Porsche of course.

Q: Does anyone have any snippets of help they could give me. As I see it, there must be things that could be done while the screen is out that are really awkward otherwise. Maybe; clean the interior heating vents/tubes to provide clean smelling air or put strategic foam around the 'cluster' to stop creaks (my car suffers when its warm/hot) or to mend the clock - on the subject of the clock, does anyone have any help/advise/knowledge they can offer for a clock that appears to just ad lib life!

Thanks to anyone who's reading.
