Wax Wizard scotland visit

I am organising a guy called "The Wax Wizard" to come up to Glasgow over the May holiday weekend (29,30,31). This guy is reputed to be the best "detailer" in the UK and will get your car well beyond showroom finish. He is closely associated with Swissol, has a degree in chemistry and uses a mixture of the swissol products and his own concoctions, including the best wheel-cleaning formulation available (called MC2), I use the stuff and it works wonders on any amount of brake dust. He also teaches his customers how to use the products to professionally clean and maintain their cars while doing their car - obviously optional to the customer.

He has space left for 2 more cars, so if anyone is interested, the deal is as follows:

"For Wax Wizard to detail (comprehensive make over interior and exterior) your joy and pride (your motor car) the normal retail price inclusive of paint Sealant and supply of 5 litres detergent free shampoo, 5 litres MC2 Multiclean, Microwipes. You will also be taught on a 1-2-1 basis in car care."
This costs £115 - this is normally £250 - a saving of £135! The shampoo, MC2 and microwipes alone are worth £73 at normal retail price.

Note, this does NOT include the wax required, for that the following is being offered:
"1. 250ml Swissol Cleaner Fluid (paint cleaner) and applicator pad
2. Pot of swissol Onyx OR Saphir wax and applicator pad
3. 3 x wax wizardDEAL 1 microwipes
4. Written instructions
Free 60 pages Swissol handbook"

The cost for this bundle with Onyx wax is £65 (normally £81), or for Saphir is £85 (normally £105).

If anyone is interested and has any questions let me know - also if anyone doesn't want to take part, but wants to see how it's done and the quality of the results that's not a problem, just drop me a line.

It will all take place at my house in Bishopbriggs, you will have to bring your car here, any for those sceptics out there - I'm not making money on this, I just want him to do my car, so need others to make it worth his while coming up from London [;)]

Greig I saw your post on Boxta net Iwould be happy to have your guys and anyone from PCGB over to my place Double Garage of road parking for 20 cars and tea and coffee I tried to post on your forum about how well organised the day at Crail was but I cannot see the post anywhere See Ya At KH Cheers Brian

Brian - we've got the space at my place, he's staying over with me as well, so makes it easier, but thanks for the offer.

I saw your post on boxa.net - it did get there. Derek managed to get his wheel off and got home ok, but it remained a 100% incident-free day (on the track anyway!) which is good.

See you on wednesday - and if you want to come down and see the wax wizard performing his magic you're more than welcome.

yes interior also. I think he can squeeze in 1 more car now, so if you're interested let me know and I'll enquire.

Greig, Mark is dropping off a clay bar for me, rather than posting it he suggested i come along and get it in person. Would that be ok with you? What day is best.
p.s. its not to get my car done funds dont allow right now!!

Thanks

Not a problem - either the saturday or sunday would be best (he's only doing 1 car on the monday am) - he'll be working from 10am to 6pm (he hopes!) so pretty much anytime will be fine. Drop me an email at greig@mcarthur.org.uk and I'll give directions and my number.

Will do Greig cheers.

If you are still struggling for cars, i can post this on the Seat forum i used to be a member of, there are only about 5 guys up near Glasgow but 1 might be into it if you want. Up to you, its your call.

Cheers

BTW isnt MC2 just the best, i got a 25l drum about 2 months ago. Split it with a mate.

I got my car done at this event yesterday and it was well worth it. Many thanks to Greig for organising this and having us all round, and Mark for making the journey up from down south against adverse traffic. Apart from the car cleaning side it was good fun meeting a few of the local (mainly seal grey MY03 model it would seem!) Boxster drivers (and one 944 Turbo driver who also turned up briefly).
For those like me who have never done something like this I can highly recommend it. Things that struck me, in no particular order:
1. The MC2 really cleans those wheels. I'd had mine off two or three days earlier to replace rusty wheelbolts and jet washed the insides of the wheels, but they were still pretty manky even after that. On the day MC2 was sprayed on and then jetwashed and the difference was amazing!
2. Some minor scuffs and sctraches I had vanished or were minimised quite significantly -- I think I now know what people mean by 'polishing out' defects.
3. The sequence and techniques used were illuminating for someone like myself who has hitherto used a bucket and hose. The wheels were cleaned first rather than last. The car was washed by wetting down by hose and then the shampoo solution applied direct to the sponge. The windows and black work, including tyres, were done after waxing but before buffing. Also, the way the wax came off so effortlessly and without residue was an eyeopener as well.
All in all, a very worthwhile day and a shiny, shiny car at the end of it :)

The wax wiz weekend is still in progress - here is a wee sample of a wheel he did - this one came in today so manky that you could not see the porsche crest in the middle (literally) - an application of MC2 and a power-hose and this is what it looks like, he did not physically touch the wheel to do this. Also look at the caliper, you couldn't read porsche before!

I haven't tried Zymol, but hear it is a lot more difficult to use correctly - the swissol is "friendlier" to use, and I believe slightly cheaper. Having seen it used and the results, I don't believe zymol could be better, and the wax wizard obviously has his views - but his testament would be that rolls royce (amongst other car makers) get him to use it, and he just applied some to Jay Kay's enzo a couple of weeks ago [;)]

Greig

We will see how good a job he done when you come along to club night , the problem is you will have to keep it this clean all the time

Cheers
Brian RO!
