WAXOILED !!!

Hi folks,

Just had the car serviced and MOT'd and now ready for the summer... The only recommendation was that the car could now do with being waxoiled.
Does anybody know anyone reputable in the Bedfordshire area (Dunstable)?
How much should I be looking to pay to get this done?
When is it best to get it done - now / end of summer?

Would love to hear from anyone who has recent experience / cost info.

Cheers, Chris [:D]

I think you should be able to do this yourself.
I remember when my Dad used to lay on the ground and spray on waxoyl under his cars.
Never done it myself. but been thinking of doing it though.

My question is.
How do you clean the underside on a low Porsche, I doubt I could find a ramp where I could wash my car underneath without the garage becoming rather annoyed.

How do we go about it?

Been looking here

This looks to be a good idea if you want to keep the car long-term. Say, every couple of years, £400? Cheaper than major welding and painting.

Thanks for the words guys.

I do not want to do this myself as my car is in pretty good nick and I'd like it done properly (having never done this myself I do not want to risk it and then find I wasted my time).

I looked at the Rustmaster website and would agree that the service looks quite impressive - but £400? I don't know why but this seems REALLY expensive for what it is... I know they talk about doing it properly, but I can't believe the oil itself is that expensive or that they use that much of it unless its mobil 1 waxoil they are spraying on.

I'll keep these guys on the back burner in reserve and keep looking round I think - I may even try the local VW dealership to see if they provide this service and what their costs are.

Will let you know how I get on...

Keep us posted, it's well worth doing. I don't think £400 is a lot, but then 944s are needing a lot of remedial work now and it can run into £000s, so anything is better than needing massive work.

Try Land Rover specialists, this is the sort of treatment they need very regularly on the chassis.

Maybe worth investigating a club discount, I would be interested in having my newly purchased S2 waxoiled.
What's everyones thoughts!!!
