weekend drive

Anyone interested in a drive out somewhere in Sussex / South East, say once a month (saturday afternoon). Just a few hours but a bit of a get together. Any thoughts / takers?

Trying to run in my GT3 at the moment and keep getting asked to do DIY instead. This could be the excuse I need. I may be around this Sat/Sun it the weather looks resonable.

Looking promising so far. I can do this weekend (Sat p.m. preferred). I'm in Uckfield and C4S is 'near' Uckfield -where are you others based?

If we're driving around the east of the county here's a couple of ideas

[1] Out across the high ridge through Burwash (great views to North and South if sunny) and perhaps down to Rye.
[2] Not quite so far - down A22, south through Berwick, A27 East, south through Wilmington (see the Long Man) east along A259, south at East Dean and take the Beachy Head road. Brilliant twisty road if you've not been along it. Peer over the cliff edge (no fence - don't fall off, I nearly did first time) stop for coffee at pub at top of Beachy Head. Then either cruise along Eastbourne seafront or back home.

Sat PM is fine with me, I live in Crawley.

The suggested route/routes sound spot on.

Time? Meeting place?

How about we meet at the entrance to the Ardingly showground almost opposite the pub, at 2pm? If we meet in the car park they may get shirty (even though we meet there monthly) if we're not drinking. As to the route, I don't care; just want a blast out with some other Porky owners.

Sounds fine, although meeting an hour earlier may give us a bit of extra time before it gets dark. Anybody else going to join us?

2pm's best for me, as although I only live at Felbridge, have to service wifes BMW in morning . . . .
Friend and future meber also joining us in his 2.4 911. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sat.

I'd like to join you, but Saturdays no good to me this week[:(] Hope its fun and I look forward to reading about all your adventures, hopefully I'll make the next outing.

Richard, please join us. This is a bit of a first and most of us will be meeting one another for the first time.

The pub is the same as our monthly meet venue. Very easy to find.

You can call me on 07973 753150

This is looking very good; all I wanted was just a run out in my Porky, and being a new member, I'm very pleased that this seems to have hit the spot. Pleeeeaaase let the weather not be crap tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing you opp. the Gargners aropund 2.

Due to a major change of plan last night and what looks like some great weather I may drop down and meet you guys.

Just going to give the car a well deserved clean, hope to see you there and have "got your number" Jonathan.

Very bg thanks to everyone who turned out this afternoon. Good turnout of 8 different types of 911, plus the venerable 924 who lead us down to the coast, and great to meet some new people.
Very special thanks to the guys I ran back from Eastbourne with - great drive; most enjoyable road drive I've had for a while, and I hope to have a lot more (and if anyone's organising a drive like this anywhere in the south, please let me know).
As this seems fairly popular, can we say 2nd Saturday in every month, meeting at the same place, or would somewhere nearer A23 / M25 be better? I'll do another post of the forum nearer the time.

Thaks again.
