And on a lighter(pun intended) note....VIZ top tip.......after removing your spare wheel to save weight, why not fill the space with some old feather pillows or cushions for better sound insulation? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Good post, I`ve a few ideas......................

Helium in your tyres

Miss breakfast

Hammocks instead of seats

Hair cut

Throw away air freshener

Empty glove box

Hoover carpets

Empty windscreen washer bottle

Shave

Go commando

Bald tyres

Worth about 3 gazillion bhp I reckon

The best modifications to lighten are:
1. Cut off roof. Not only does this reduce weight but it also makes your car flex into the corners and shake around.
2. Remove your 2.5 turbo engine and replace it with a Vauhall Astra 1.7 not turbo diesel engine. It is important to use the non turbo engine as it saves weight.
3. Downsize your 4 pot brembo brakes to drum brakes off a hillman imp.
4. Convert your shocks to solid rods of aluminium.
5. remove your bonnet, bumper, wings, doors and boot. this saves a lot of weight and makes the car less aero dymanic.

In all seriousness, I am considering doing some weigh reduction measures. Is it worth putting fibreglass wings and bonnet on or are they too flimsy for a road car? I am also condsidering removing the air con as it is heavy and does not work anyway.

Ew my boot leaks soggy pillows in there would be a bit orrid.
