Well done to Jackal

on receiving a deposit on his 968CS. Will be the first to admit i thought it was overpriced, but will put my hands up and say my thoughts were obviously misplaced. The car was presented very well both in condition and advertising.

Despite this - and i do still have some reservations - it bodes well ....and owning one myself......well, unless you have a CS the rest of you will think it was overpriced......[;)]. Me, i may also just be tempted in the Spring to do a little advertising myself.

Any thoughts anyone? Irrespective of what we consider right/wrong re pricing, the proof of the pudding is presented before us.

JP

As we all know.
The good ones are always going to find a home...So long as they are ,as advertised....
Must admit though his advert was a good one...

I too thought the pricing was optimistic - the fact that it's sold so quickly does suggest the market for good CSs has moved [:D], which can only be good news for those with similar cars [;)]

do we know who bought it? did I hear correctly that it was a friend of another well known 968CS owner around these parts?

JP - well your superb example should sell for well over that BUT the trick is to find the buyer with both the size of wallet and the desire to own such a pristine modded example -- the passion that Jackal showed in the advert for this project IMO also helped to ferret out the elusive buyer.

....and my problem being Paul, there is always the chance i would go and buy another with perhaps a ....V8, but more likely an older BM - and i would need to find lots more £k and about 500 hours from somewhere for the latter!

I am sure we will see the car around, perhaps the new owner will be tempted to show off his new acquisition in the Spring.

Good CSs make 25K Euro in Euro so par for the course with all that work done in Euro land.

Here with all the sceptics it is a very good price.

I could not figure how the top mounts had the non M030 flat covers and whether it had the M030 spindles for that price?

Thats because it wasnt a factory M030. !!!!!!! Shock - Horror.!!!!!!!
So im guessing it didnt have M030 spindles + hubs....
If you look at the pics , it doesnt have drilled M030 discs OR coil over rear shocks, but 928S4 plain discs + 944 M030 rear shocks instead.....
Dont think it had a LSD either.....!!!!!!!!!!![8|][8|]
It is a retro fit M030..
Which makes it even more a good price, as its realy , dare i say it,, "a copy"...
There are a few out there...[8|][8|][8|].

How do i know this...
a, Because im a sad 968 git...[:D][:D]
And
b, Because i have a Genuine M030 Riviera Blue CS in my garage....[:D][:D][:D][:D] So i know what one should have fitted from factory....

Good on him for a GREAT add + moreover keeping the prices of GOOD CS,s where they should be...

Aye up Big Dave, I didn't know you had a Riviera Blue CS - you jammy git!! [8D]

You've finally come out the closet. You've had it that long and kept quiet i had nearly forgotten about it! I think you are embarassed to own such a car and not one single modification [:D], and the colour is a bit girly.....

But i have to admit its a rather pretty looking car - and quite rare with original M030. I'll leave it up to Dave to discuss it, even i have not seen it out on the road (although he did hesitate when we viewed it and i nearly snapped it up myself [:)]), and i suspect it won't be out very often - Sunny days hey Dave, keep it under wraps in that bubble, maintain the condition and see if it appreciates [;)]. I'd rather see the 'real' one out (read, the very modded one that goes like it should rather than flurts with some looks)....but both will be taking a backseat with the BM's.

Paz - ask him what mileage it has...

JP

Is this the one which Gmund were advertising earlier this year?

Do the decent thing and post some photos....

Thanks

David

David.
Oh no. That was WAY to expensive for me....[;)][;)]

Yes finally out of the "closet".....

Yes its tucked up in its "bubble" carcoon.
Before it see,s the road in earnest, it needs a small amount of tidying, but only cosmetic...[8D][:D][8D][:D][8D][:D]

Oh + heres a pic for you....

Is that a new concrete base I see before me[:D][:D][:D]

If that CS had been on the autotrader website instead of just the NW magazine I'd have got there even quicker than you[;)]

If you want to sell it Dave as is, please ring me first[;)]

Cheers
Dave

We're always after a bargain. Thought you might have had those 7.5's on fleabay Mr Hooper....or still waiting for Dave's New Year sale [:D]

JP

Mr Hooper.
Yes it is a "new" concrete base.. But its been down for almost 2 years. [8|][8|][8|]
In fact its now got a garage built on it....Finally....Just adding the final touches...[:D][:D].
The sale has started already. [;)][:D]
Ive just sold 2 sets on my "old" 16" S2 wheels...Got a few more things i need to sell. But only S2 stuff at present...[;)][8|]

David , thanks. Yes i like it too...[8D][8D]
My original plan was to get it fettled by the Classic Le Mans + do the trip down in it.
But with plans changing + getting into BMW racing,,,, that might just not happen.
We,ll see what happens in early 2010....[;)][:D][;)]

Considered them Jason and at, what was it £164? they looked OK.
I really want the 8". ET 70 OK as now have some 15mm front spacers from PH. Need some nuts for them though as mismash of nuts and 5 of them the wrong face angle.
There're H&R if anybody has a spare few kicking about.

Cheers
Dave

Oooh, that looks lovely Dave!

Go on then, how many miles has it done!?!

Well done on finding a Riviera CS M030. Very rare beast indeed!
