Hello Folks - I guess that there can't be too many of you.........
I've been a PCGB member for ages and had my 993RS (blk/blk/small tail) for longer (2004).
This is my first post.
My car shows 159k Km now - nearly run in I reckon.
I'm the 3rd owner, I sold it to a dealer once, I shan't make that mistake again and fortunately managed to buy it back from him a couple of months later and not one single second of regret since.
Why all the fuss over the RHD cars (apart from numbers), smaller tanks engineered for the other side & doesn't make sense to me? I prefer LHD. Though I still dream about that white RHD car, even more exquisite than black.
I don't get the low mileage ('I never used it') premium either - weren't these cars made for driving or have I missed something?
What's the best PCGB event for meeting other 993 RS owners?
I race a Caterham but would like to get into racing a 911 (probably an oldish one) in due course - any clues?
Cheers!

Hello and welcome from a fellow lightweight owner (964) excellent you have made yourself known.

Agree the RHD thing is a bit of micro market, very popular in Hong Kong and Singapore where most of the C16 cars are now. I have always driven LHD 964RS until recently buying a couple of RHD Turbo's 930 .... I will soon be returning to a M001 964 totally basic as my old 964RS M003 N-GT ....

Racing, well you could not be on a better forum, your leader Mr Paul Howells is the eventmeister and can certainly get you started in the right channels.

Meeting up with fellow 993RS'ers well what better than 8th March Oulton Park RS Day!

All the best and speak with Paul.

having just sounded off about RHD cars and all the unnecessary fuss etc, I have just looked at the red development car and want it!
Some of you seem to know a lot more of the history and on a personal level I suspect - could you advise?
thanks

Yes, Oulton Park on the 8th should be fab ...

It's also much more than the cars ... more about like minds and sharing the learning experience.

Do you know Hugh (Smith ?) ... he now owns Des' Mint Green 964RS NGT and used to race Caterhams.

I will also be at Oulton ... alas my racing Cayman S will not be ready in-time, but I'll be punting my Cayman R and taking a little tuition ...

And giving a few passenger rides :)

Even the racing car will have a passenger seat ... in the series we have 1425 kilos to play with [;)]
