went for a drive today...

What fun! As you may know my car was always parked about 2 hours drive from our house. Well we are now living (temporarily) at my Mums and I have the 12 in the Garage. A real treat I can tell you, forgot what a spontaneous drive was! Fired her up and went for a spin around the Cheshire countryside in the sunshine. Waved at about 6 Boxters, non returned [:(] (Cheshire does seem to be the home of the Boxster, although not the friendly type). Almost forgot how much I love the car, so enthralled with the driving experience I forgot to take any pictures. Maybe next time.

Anyone else had their car out?

Gavin...

Cheshire is the home of many Porsches. I regularly see a Cayman, a 968, a 996 Turbo and several different 996 and Boxters on my way to work. I don't wave as I'm in the Megane.[:'(]

But now March is here, Tara is back on the road, so remember to wave at a dark blue 3.2 knocking about![:)]

BTW... Off to Oulton tomorrow to spectate at a track day if you fancy a blast!

Took my '12 out last Friday Gav - 6 months since I last drove it properly and I had forgotten (as I always do each year) how much I love the car!

I am looking forward to taking the 12 when Iget back from Oz but I am thinking it will be nice and sunny when I get back... I forget it's Winter back home..

Having too much fun watching racing here in Oz and taking part.. and too much surfing... ( apart from the sharks in the water [&:] still looking out for them... ) I can defo see me driving my 912 up and down west coast highway out here.. 34 today nice and hot... perfect Porsche driving weather...my wheels will blend in just right here... [:D][:D] so looks like the UK will be down one 912 next year..any one want a 912 number plate...[:D]

Mark . . . gutted for you [;)][;)] . . . but the weathers really good here at the mo [:D].

Glad you're enjoying yourself . . . are you sure the Porsche scene in Austrailia is ready for you. If you hook up with any of the www.typ901.org mob . . . . get us a sticker will you.

Cheers
Phil

Yup been surfing in North Wales in me board shorts, hot as hades... New South Wales sounds nice but the weather can't be that nice surely? [;)]

Back now.... Bloody cold!!!!!!! the best I got out there was 43 and the coldest was 26 for about 2 hrs and then it was 28 ...

I even got a tan.. Surfing is just the way of life out there. and the waves are wow!! but the sharks do put me off abit.. ekk!!!!!! and they are there.. don't think they are not..

The wind is great esp in the afternoon and if your into kite surfing then Perth is the place!!! good strong constant gusts.. so much so if you leave a can on the beach watch it get shot blasted....

the type901 club I found to not be that helpful they only have 90 members and they want your money before they do anything.. and that is a problem.. good idea but not as helpful as I expected. Now the 356 boys and the 911 boys of the Ozy Porsche club totaly different.. I met up with a number of them and they were great out for a few beers putting engines back in and nother beer then exhaust and nother beer... supprising how much work got done... oh another beer..

I was with Ted Johnson who's black 356 racer was in GT Porsche Mag last month ( well March ) if any one has it .... nice car loads spent on it.. and very helpful..

I will have the oldest Porsche in WA and one of a Very few 912's again in WA..

3 weeks was great I got my head round alot of pro's and con's out there and looking forward to working out what to do next.. but when there has been a price increase of 50-60% on houses in the last 3 years !!!!!!! it's watch the market time......money at the ready.

Interesting very attractive mad Over sexed South American lady on the plane next to me on one leg of the journey but you wouldn't believe me if I told you.........heck I am still in shock..

Great to be back but this time I am not as much bothered about being back in England perhaps this is all good timing....... back to daily traffic jams and speed camera's and paperwork and lovely customers..[&:]

only down side with Oz is the 65mph top speed on the motorway and 55mph on the back roads..[&:] this is not nice to drive to it's too bloody slow!!!!!

Oh thinking of taking the 912 out tonight and to take it to the VW show in Esha
