Looks very smart.
You now need to stick a pic. and colour on TurbotwotimeswedTonys thread of 'colours'.

Thanks to you all for the kind comments, I have already put a picture in Tony's colour thread & well spotted Fen. I hope to have completed a few other minor cosmetic improvments by the time we get to Brands at the end of the month.

Graeme, nice - really like the 944 in that colour and the wheels set the cab off well. Nice to see somebody else with the Grey Leather interior. Nice purchase

Nice Car, shame about the wheels, I prefer the original Design 90's, I like to keep cars original.[;)][;)]

I do have the originals tucked away in the garage for when we sell.

Very, VERY nice Graeme. I look forward to seeing it at Brands. Make sure you call Nick to get it on the Register if you are not already showing with R13

(So the 'test drive' in my little old S2 helped you in your decision then [;)])

back just in time to put it in the garage for the winter ! [&o]

Glad you have it back . keep sunnyside up [;)]

hiya stu, good to hear your back, i intend to take my car to daytona in early new year, is it usual practice to have the car for such a long time?, as i wouldnt want to drop car off at the end of feb and not be able to pick her up until the end of april/may altough daytona are very good at what they do, great news your back on the road,,, cheers jason p

JasonP,

Daytona have an excellent reputation for the work they do and it is probably a 'problem of success' that they may be prone to getting overloaded, at least on occasions. I went to see them at the beginning of September, talked through what needed doing on the car, was waiting for a call back to arrange a time but was called mid October saying sorry but they can't even think about accepting any more work before Jan or Feb 2011. At the time I visited them there were three or four 928s on site in a queue waiting for complete everything-out body restoration and resprays and other cars around as well.

I can't blame them for this: it is presumably a reflection of the quality of their work that they have more demand than supply. They also don't like disappointing people: I could tell they were uncomfortable telling me that, in effect, they couldn't do what I needed done because I had an MOT deadline of mid January, which at the time was several months distant. At least it gav me the opportunity to try some other places. If you want to minimise your car's downtime I would call them and get an update. It may be that you will be without our car for a shorter time if you are prepared to take it in later, as it may be that they are now getting over the hump of the surplus work that they had taken on.

Jason, I think what happened at Daytona was that initially they thought they would be able to start work on mine within a few weeks of dropping it off. But then, one of the jobs before mine became a much bigger job, causing them to overrun massively and putting all their other jobs back. Dave at daytona was pretty stressed about it, so stopped taking on new work. In fairness hecwas good at keeping me updated and once they started they made pretty quick progress.

When I went to collect they had 4 928s waiting, all of which needed completing by Christmas. I guess it's a sign of success that they're so busy. I'm really happy with the results of their work on mine
