WET CARPET - HELP!!!

Got home today and went for a spin in my Boxster. Found that the very bottom of the door cards which is carpeted were wet. I don't have speakers in the doors. Also there was a small wet patch on the drivers side footwell just underneath the spoiler switch. Rest of the footwell was dry.Passenger side footwell was bone dry. It has been consistently raining for the last 3 -4 days and I haven't used the car, its been sat on my driveway.
Has anyone else had these problems or is it something you live with. I am moving house in a month which has a garage, so I will be storing the car in their but have to put up with the driveway for the time being.

Any comments or advice would be much appreciated

You need the drain plugs cleared or replaced. Get it sorted ASAP as it may short-circuit the ECU (which is under the passenger seat) which will be a much bigger bill... Lots of threads on the forum on this do a search...

All the best.

Wet carpet on the door cards is normally indicative of a failed plastic door membrane - its an easy fix, remove the door panel refit or renew (fairly cheap at OPC) and replace door card

Thanks for that advice. I thought it would be the inner door membrane. Did a search on this forum and it all points to that. Water seems to collect just below the boot/bonnet release handle on the door sills both sides. There is an excellent DIY diagram on here of how to remove the door card, just got to remember to have careful hands and be patient.

Did you look at this thread?

There is a post with the diagram locations of all the drains but I cannot find it using the search... but having said that if it only the door card area than it is unlikely to be the drains and what Black80XSA mentioned would be useful to check.

Hi THX911

Yeah I looked at that thread, I think it is the door membranes as its only the bottom of the door cards that are wet. I think from that it is dripping into the footwell. There was only a very very small wet patch on the drivers side footwell, nothing on the passenger side.
