Hi
Does anyone have any experience with the drain tube,on the passenger side at the front .My front footwell keeps filing with water when it rains heavily ,I am thinking this must be blocked and and the cause of the water ingress.
Thanks Paul

Hi Paul

I've just gone through this pain on mine. If you remove the access panels in the plastic cover under the bonnet either side of the wiper mechanism (engine controller under one and electrical box under the other) you will probably find a swimming pool. Under the elect box there is a drain tube and under the eng cont unit there is one on the other side. I used. Length of electrical wire to clesr it out. All the soil nd leaves block the drains up and when the water level gets too high, it comes in through the heater housing.

The drains can be a pain to find but they do need clearing out from time to time.

I wonder if this is on of the reasons for the abs units failing as they are partially submerged in this water.

Hope this helps
Dave

Had this problem, found it very difficult to clear from the top, so, if you jack the car up and remove the wheel well liner you can clear the rubber drain tubes from the bottom - best with a thin vacuum cleaner hose just inside the tube then use some sort of flexible hose or wire from the top.
