What 19" Tyre

Yes, I'm interested as well. Been running Bridgestone Turanzos and the second set are now looking tired. Coming up to 30k miles. They wear particularly badly on the front outside shoulders, but that's probably a product of the weight of the car and slow tight cornering/parking. Was concerned enough to have the geometry checked last time, but it was spot on.

Coincidence or what - picked up a large screw in a rear close to the shoulder, so the tyre's a a write off. Interesting discussions with Kwik Fit who had an offer of Pirelli for £575 fitted, but no stock. Needed them immediately so limped to Micheldever in Hampshire and got a set of replacement Bridgestones for £525 all in. They also pointed out that the Pirellis offered were not speed rated for the Cayenne.
Another pearl of wisdom from KwikFit and a point I'd not heard of before was that if there is more than 4mm difference in tread depth between front and rears, on a permanent 4x4 system, it can put pressure on the diffs because of variation in speed so a whole set must be purchased. Sounds a bit suspect to me.

Have just fitted Pirelli, Rossos (18") in place of the original continentals - much quieter, better wet grip (haven't pushed hard enough on road to notice much difference in dry grip). Whether they last is still to be seen, but hard to fault unless you need a serious offroad or snow tyre.

only applies to older 4x4 systems that use viscous couplings, where they can sieze... does not apply to the KN.
18" Rossos great during the summer dreadful the moment the temp drops and hopeless on icy roads (though catching a tailslide in a 2.2 tonne car is fun...and educated me as to how responsive the steering feedback is)
18" pirelli s/t - not speed rated for high speed use (M&S tyres rarely are) but fantastic wet & cold weather grip... I think they are rated to 135mph which is enough for me in the UK...
