What are my tyre options?

I've only ever had Michelin tyres fitted and it looks like i'm in the market to get some replacements.

What have other people got? There seems to be a number of Bridgestone and Continental options. But which which ones to go for.

It may depend on availability at the end of the day. I had to go for 4 x bridgestones last month to get through an MOT and I had real trouble finding them (19's). In the end I followed others advice on here & went through an OPC as I'd tried all my other options with no luck. Haven't really pushed on with them yet, but they seem to be grippy enough in the damp/wet & aren't very noisy at speed

I have 18" Pirelli P-Zero Rosso N4's on my 986.

Far superior tyre for grip, noise etc. Only let down by slight wear increase rate.

Cheaper too!

I got Pirelli P-Zero Rosso are round on 17" BoxsterS 2 rims, look good as well with the RED Pzero logo on the sidewalls.
They do tramline a bit compared with the Continentals, but there's more grip when they get warm and are very quite.
Also very impressive in the wet on the rears, but Some people say they wear quickly.
Sorry I can't compare them with the Michelin or Bridgestone, I like to try some Bridgestones as they get very good reviews.

Assuming this is the 987 on 18s in your profile...

i think your options are pretty much limited to Bridgestone or Michelin - supply might be easier with Bridgestones. Michelin generally give a longer life, but the Bridgestones seem to fair OK so far (not been around for as long, so less people hitting sufficient mileage to change them).

Asked the same question myself and being doing some research.

Seems the latest generation Michelins are unbeatable in grip in dry, wet, road noise and tyre wear.

If a few £'s more no object I know where I would be going.....
