What brake fluid?

Hi all,

After my last track day, my brakes have gone a bit spongy. So I feel it is time for some new fluid. Do they replaces the fluid ona 24K service ?

If not, I'll do it myself and fit stainless hoses and EBC reds but which fluid ?

Any favourites out there for 80% road, 20% track ?

Cheers

Brake fluid is changed every two years; you can request a change any time and it will set you back by £107 fixed price at the OPC.

You have 2 choices IMO - ATE super blue fluid (£12 per litre) or Castrol SRF (£50 per litre) Both of these have a significantly higher boiling point than standard fluid.

Upgrading the pads (EBC, Porterfield or Pagid) and brake lines to stainless steel are also worthwhile doing at the same time - you will notice a big difference on the track, next time around

Hi,

ATE super blue it is then, I also fit the hoses at the same time.

£107 to bleed brakes, bet it takes them seconds with a proper workshop brake bleeding tool. Besides with the wheel off it is a good opportunity to clean and inspect the bits and bobs you can see. Not to mention maybe paint the calipers red :)
