Washed and leathered her off today - looks brill and shiney sat there on the drive.

Could not leave it at that so had to take her out for a little spin.

Started off as an intent of 20.00 minutes but getting into a C4S is like getting into the bermuda triangle - you just get lost and time flys as you enjoy every minute - 2 hours later a arrived home again - hahaha.

Brillinat.

What did you do???

Hi Mike

Glad you've had good day out with your 996 4S.

We took ours out on an end of season run with our local region.

We met some fellow earlybirds at Wetherby services then picked up everyone else at Skipton. We had a skoot around the Yorkshire Dales, stopped off at Ribblehead Viaduct for a rather damp photo opp. Then on to Hawes for a brief cheese tasting pit stop and finished with Sunday lunch at the Black Sheep brewery restaurant.

Despite the weather, we managed to have a bit of a blast in M666 before she goes away for the winter. Gave her a bit of hose down when I got back, too cold and dark for the full works, that will have to wait for a weekend.

Gotta love the 4S eh [;)]

Had a brake fluid change last week with ATE superblue and as I haven't driven it much over the last few weeks took it fr a daily drive to Southampton. Managed to do 350 miles in 3 days!

Hey Mike, come join us next time.

True, we have some beautiful scenery and roads here in God's Own County but you don't do so bad with the Derbyshire Dales. We had a similar Sunday out down there in July stopping at the Strines Inn for a late lunch, great stuff.

A good drive around the New Forest and back up to Bucks. Next time your in the Yorkshire Dales, drive over to Malham onto Litton then over to Settle, great drive.....lived there until last May. Mike

Great pictures and those groovey black number plates!

Yes lovely country side, may just pop up and join you one day.

Cheers

Drove to work and back today - this hapens every day for me, its only 10.00 miles each way but its quite nice as the car is my every day car to enjoy each and every day with an option of cross country or motorway so best of both traveling ways.

Had my split locking wheel nut tool welded up and it works a treat, so change my front brake pads, got a deal on them at just £37.00 so 40 minutes later shes on the ground again and stopping well! [:)]

Gave her the usual weekly wash and leather off and then had to polish a mark out of the rear wing that a knidly trick or treater left me with after his bycycle handle bar rubber dragged along the wing edge, luckily it did not break the paing and the Tcut and polish sorted it all back to normal.

Off out now for a leasurly spin, the skys blue and a hint of sun.

Tata 4 now.

A good clean......sat back and admired......then spotted a very tempting 944 for sale! No she will kill me!

Ditto last weekend - found some great driving roads through Northumberland and up to Jedburgh and came back via Rothbury and Corbridge - sorry you folks from Yorkshire, but this is God's country too !

It was below zero last night and frost was across the car, gave it till 10.00 and then spent the morning washing and a really good polishing session of all the paint work so shes ready for winter.

Cleaned windows inside and out and gave all the leatherwork a quick flash dash - what a clean pin.

Decided to take her for the obligatory spin but alas the dash lit up like a christmas tree - turned the key and lots of clicks but no fire up - Aaawww _ _ _ _!

had the stereo on all the time cleaning but am a little dissapointed as thought the battery was in good condition so must have dragged her down on the charge.

Tried the key again and noted the voltage - just 10!

Turned the key and clickity click.

Luckily the I had driven the car into the drive so the rear od the car was assesible for the donner car jump start, conected the leads up and tried again.

Vroom up she fired a blip of the throttle and she ticked over as usual.

Disconected the jump leads and i was off for the spin to get some charge back into the battery (good excuss for a 25 mile spin).

Will have to see what shes starts like tomorrow morning now - may need a new battery!!

Alternators OK as pulling 14 on the volts.

Never a dull moment - adios amigos.

Had a run up to Gods Country today Derby to Leeds, loaded her up with some tools and a black and decker work mate and off I went.

Completed my work early, filled her up and off to York retail outlet for a few good clothes.

Managed to pull 31.00mpg on the way back despite the appaling rain and bad weather - was not being a sloutch but pulled 31 to the gallon having done 125miles.

Thought this very good and had a few Hellos on the way - 996 turbo and several boxters all had a wave or too.

Yes its been a little cold over night ands I too did a little de icing but with a bucket of hot water and a sponge.

She cleaned up well and leathered off even better, then off for the regulatory spin dry to Derbys Westfield centre - looked a picture in the underground car park, all shiney and clean, a few prezzizes bought and were back in the seat and buzzing back home in the winter sun.

All parked up for the night now but im guessing I may be using the dee icer tin in the morning and the window scraper.
