What do you think?

I just fitted one of these. I don't think it's chavy! But then I would say that! It's a good device. Radio reception is rubbish and the menu system is slow. It takes a while to boot up too. For features though its very good, you just need to be patient. Blue tooth isn't great, the microphone doesn't work very well at all.

Not exactly a glowing review then.. Thanks David

So what is good about it? Radio - no, speed - no, use as a bluetooth hands free - no. I'm struggling to spot an advantage now!! Any idea if it's Windows Media Player 9 compatible? That would give it a bit of an edge as then it's likely to be compatible with Napster. I've been looking at this one (there's an iPod version too): [link=http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-pioneer-deh-600bt_p-23302.htm]http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-pioneer-deh-600bt_p-23302.htm[/link] It seems to do most of what the Parrot can do but without the colour screen and internal memory. It has aux in and USB though so MP3 is no problem, plus you retain a CD player for the once in a blue moon you might use one these days.

Matt, you're right. It's still in warranty too and I'm toying with just taking it back. Radio for me isn't important, I've always had rubbish reception as it is. Blue tooth is poor but its there so at least I can receive calls, just have to lean in to speak (not dangerous at all then!). Menu system I can live with. I wanted SD card capability and the iPod connection, on that alone for the price it sold it for me. The iPod menu is reflected on the screen so its great to be able to flip through your collection and the iPod is nicely hidden in the cubby behind. It can be a pain parking up though as not only do you have to unclip the fascia but also remove the iPod.

David, FYI - I reached the end of my tether with this product and took it back to Halfrauds today to swap it for a Blaupunkt Hamburg. From now on I'll leave the iPod at home and take a nice cheap USB stick with me. There's a good thread on AVForums about it with mention that Halfrauds have withdrawn the item and Parrot is recalling all stock. Certainly on my visit to Halfrauds today, I can confirm that this may well be true as the item's price tag was removed and it was coming off display.

I had the earlier model parrot in my works van and apart from getting a poor radio signal, the bluetooth constantly disconecting ,poor sound quality (could off been the van speakers though) and the menu being slow and dificult to use it was fine

Thanks for the update Damon. Think I'll steer well clear for now.
