Hi all

having now had my 944 for 3 weeks (winter project) i am getting around to sorting things for the summer if we finally have one

The clutch pedal is on the floor and i was told this was due to the master cylinder seal going could this be it or could it be something more sinister release bearing etc

How do i go about testing to see what i might be? im not wanting to buy parts only to find that its something else i have done that before as im sure most of us have lol

thanks

i'd fill it up with fluid and get someone to operate the clutch while i tried to see where it was leaking from before lashing out cash on bits that may not be broken.

yes thats what i thought not sure where to start clutch pedal is on the floor and there is fluid in the reservoir for the master cylinder thought it might want bleeding so was going to try that first....but what else could cause the clutch pedal to be completely on the floor with no feeling in it at all?

If it isnt the slave cylinder then I'll eat my Arai.....

edited to correct my rushed mistake!

Slave cylinder or hose. As I posted last week on a different thread master the fluid usually ends up in the car, slave under the car and the hose would also end up under the car but you can see it with the bonnet up. If one has gone probably worth replacing all 3 - hose might be cheaper from a local hydraulics place they should be able to make you up a new one.
