What does everybody use?

I love Zaino as a car polish system, but never one to sit back and say that is the best and there is nothing better, I am wondering what other people use and how much it costs, ease of application etc. Very interested in carnuba products. Anybody ever used One Grand Blitz (I think that is what it is called)

The last stuff that I got from America (Rejex), which I put on top of the Zaino gave a stunning finish, ask Big Dave who I think bought some when he was in the US.

So is there someting I should change too?

Have gone back to Zymol just to try it again and am of the same opinion that it is overpriced, but does a nice job and leaves your hands smelling very nice.

hi

I have used Autoglym for many years now and have always been happy with the results, how ever for me polishing the car is just as much fun as driving it, ok well not quite as much fun. So i tend to spend quite a bit of time on it, but one of the best things i have is an electric buffer and a good set of cleaning shammie's. I guess it's finding a product you can work with there are lots of products on the market some good some bad and one or two extremley expensive. For many years i used Turtle wax High Gloss and it was just as good really.. On adverage i would say i polish my car once a week so it do not really matter what i use i guess.. No to sure if this helps

Zymol

tried a few other things over the last few years, really through curiosity. Turtle Wax Fast Wax is great for a quite application to the wheels during winter months (wipe on / wipe off) - i know it has silicones in it but when its near freezing outside its better than warming the wheels up to use Zymol.

Got nearly two bottles of RejeX in the garage - only used on the inside of the wheels for one application and not impressed at all - back to Zymol as soon as temps rise enough to take the wheels off for a good clean and wax.

You should try the Rejex on your body work, the results are stunning. remember to let it cure before putting on the recommended 2nd coat.

I have just resprayed a car in flat black, as an experiment after buffing with G3 I polished one half of the bonnet with Autoglym and the other with Zymol although the Zymol is slightly harder to apply and remove it didn't leave the "haze" that the Autoglym did, On flat black you see every slight imperfection and even under the telling lights in my garage all that was left with the Zymol was a very shiney finish.
The reason I did this experiment is because before Zymol I used to think Autoglym was expensive! and I really dodn't like wasting my hard earned cash, so I really really wanted the autoglym to be as good but it just wasn't.

Hope this helps.

Ant.

I use Zymol - apart from the shine it protect and water and dirt just runs off when cleaning.

A pot of Zymol goes a very long way and if you follow the Zymol prep/application/cleaning guide one should not need to Zymol more than once every 6 months. On that basis my pot will last years on one car !!

I last Zymol'd in very warm weather so it was very easy I can imagine in the temparatures we have now it is not so easy so I would be tempted to put it in the airing cupboard to bring the temp up and then try and keep it warm as I went over the car.
(NOT HOT OR TOO WARM THOUGH ENOUGH TO AID IN THE APPLICATION THATS ALL OTHERWISE COUL B***ER UP THE WAX)

Autoglym is as polish and Zymol is a wax.

Have recently bought a supply of Zaino and tried the Zymol cheap wax in the meantime. Will let you know when I have applied the Zaino. Everyone who has used it says its easily as good as Zaino but lasts 3 times longer. It's only been available from the uk for a while so I expect people will try it and some will swap over.

Zymol cleaner wax which admittedly probably isn't the greatest but probably one of the cheapest. Available from halfords.
