What exactly does this do?

I have the Bose upgrade in my P-car which includes (perhaps they all do) an option under the "Sound" menu of "Set". I have tried every different position of the cursor and for the life of me cannot hear any meaningful difference. Perhaps there is more clarity at the top end, but if so it is very marginal.

Can anyone tell me what it should do? The manual does not appear to.
 
No idea. I too have played around with this without noticing any affect. I thought it might be something that only works with the basic system.
 
I was under the impression that this has to do with the surround function , and adjusts the amount of bass / treble based on a microphone feedback from inside the car.
