What Exhaust

Looking to replace the back pipe in my S2.
I know this question has been asked before but I need some direction which one I should go for ...

1) OEM (expensive)
2) Dansk (cheap & cheerful £150)
3) ESS (developed by Janspeed £300)
4) RPM (developed by Hayward & Scott £370)

I have replaced the mid silencer with a straight thru stainless steel pipe and I can confirm that it does sound better and feels more responsive. I wonder if any of the above back pipe will give performance gain or they are more for accoustic enjoyment. Has anyone done any before and after test on performance gain? Are there any other options available?

Mmmmmmmm....... Hayward & Scott, drool...... [;)] I saw an article in 911 and Porsche World a few years ago with a nice shiny Hayward and Scott exhaust system fitted to a 911 Carrrera 3.2, looked like a work of art.

I had H&S on my car and I liked it - quite quiet but deep sounding.

Watch the back box though as it's pretty much all the noise suppression you have. Prior to fitting my H&S the tailpipe fell off my Turbo's back box and it was incredibly noisy even with a turbo taking the edge off it.

Yes it's both of those but also excellent quality and fantastic value for money (and half the weight of OEM) . Don't expect any performance gains you can notice though.

agreed - a work of art but no use performance wise!

I am also thinking of getting a new exhaust I was originally going to go for the ESS but having looked at the Hayward and Scott I'm not sure which to go for now both look really nice.
