I asked a couple of members this question and the answer is not always what you would think.

The question is this --- Which Porsche out of all the Porsches you have owned would you like to still have regardless of price and performance. Ie which one was your favorite ?

Answers below please

Boxster 550 spyder anniversary model (986) - as a road car was just perferct, sublime handling (better than the 987), nice spec, sold it for more than I paid for it.
996 turbo a close second - spoiled by high depreciation caused by mongs on the internet (and dealers with vested interest crashing the market)

My basic 2.7 Cayman has been the best road car I have ever owned. No frills, no gee-gaws, just enough power ... a proper Porsche like they used to be. My 968 Coupe would be in second place, another lovely drivers car and greatly under-rated.

My least favourite may be a surprise. I owned a 964 Carrera 2 for a couple of years, a car which is now the darling of the Porsche scene, and rapidly going up in value. I'm glad I owned it so I can say I once owned a 911, but I never really gelled with that car. I never felt like it was really on my side, the car always felt like it had its own agenda, which you didn't know about! The Cayman is a vastly better car IMHO.

My that's a hard one with having owned 12 since 1992 ...i suppose the answer would be the one i currently have the Spyder. I get a lot of satisfaction out of owning the cars and not just the driving them.
Will always have a soft spot for the first a 1984 3.2 Carrera also liked my 993 and the two Boxsters i had . Like Greig had a 550 Spyder was a nice car .
Regret selling that's an easy one! has to be my Replica 356 Speedster the nicest looking car a classic in every way .

I await Alan Lang's choice that will make interesting reading[;)]

I've had a lot - from 356 to 991, inc GT3s, Turbos.

Still have 'old' and 'new', but my favourite was the '88 3.2 'Club Sport', which I owned for 12 years.

Boxster, was the best at doing everything well,

previous, 944, 3.2 Targa, 2 Boxsters (987 models), 993 2S, Current 996 GT3RS and 964 C2 and 3.2 Cayenne,

cheers
Scott.

ps, have driven all the new line of cars with the exception of the GT3s, and still think the Boxster is the best all rounder.

Easy question for me as I've only owned one Porsche. But I suppose the fact that I've had it for over 13 years and am just a few hundred miles off having driven 100,000 miles in it probably means I got it right first time round. [:)]

Should probably have said it's a 993 C4
