What have I bought... a 997.1 or 997.2!?!

Hi,
I am clearly new to Porsche cars (life long dream) and have recently bought a 911 Carrera 2... but I'm finding it surprisingly hard to find out if its a Gen I or Gen II!? It was sold to me as a 997.2 but I'm getting suspicious, hence spending many hours reading forums over the past few days... and am still confused.
So,
It was registered in July 2008 (so, its a 997.1 then!)
But, its a DFI engine? (997.2?)
It has single lens headlights (997.1?)
It's got a PDK gearbox (997.2)
The stereo is black (not silver)
The V5C says;
Variant: KD12
Version: 01
Model: "911 Carrera 2 S-A"

Can anyone share any advice?
Thanks very much,
Chris

Defo an early 997.2. The 'twin' headlights didn't arrive until a bit later in the '08 model year when they debuted on the 997.1 1/5 (no, really) turbo.

Thanks very much, appreciate the help.
The main thing was the 2008/9 thing. Every post I saw says the GenII didn't come out until 2009.
Anyways, thanks again... I'll let it go now... its 997.2!! (TFFT)

2009 refers to the Model Year. The car could be made the year before and still fall into that model year designation.

This would only refer to cars that were made from August of any year.

Early 997.2 , DFI engine not an M97 power unit, same interior as the 1.5 turbo. What lights does your car have? DLR at the front and rear led with the slight angle on the rear bumper?

One of the most obvious distinctions is the rear light shapes - 997.1 left, 997.2 right [;)]
