What is a "Complementary Driving Light"?

Firstly an apology. I have just found this forum, so I will be bombarding you with questions that I have acumulated over the past 14 months of ownership of a 944.

A couple of months ago I had a problem with battery drain, so I did the normal check using a multimeter and pair of pliers (to pull the fuses).

I traced it to the "Complementary Driving Light" circuit, and since I have pulled the fuse it has been fine.

I do not seem however to have lost any functionailty in any of my lights or any of the electrical items in the car?

So, what is that circuit supposed to do, and what exactly are "Complementary Driving Lights"?

Thanks, Steve (Dawns husband)

Do you have the driving lights built into the front spoiler below the indicator sidelight units?
(sorry can't find a picture of a lux with them)

How much current ? If it was the front driving lights, you would know immediately ! if it's low current, check the light's going off in the glove box.
