What is acceptable tyre pressure loss per week?

Hi all
I'm a returning Porsche owner and have just bought a new Cayman 2.7 (in November 2015).
For some reason I can't find any search option on this forum, so apologies if this has been covered.

My rear nearside tyre loses just over 1psi per week; the other 3 are stable. Is that considered an acceptable loss or should I follow it up with the OPC?

On an allied note, the offside rear TPM sensor seems abit random. I have all tyres set at 30psi cold, and the sensors all report this correctly when cold, but the O/S rear then reads anything between 32 and 35 where the others tend to settle at 32 Front and 33 Rear. Is this also within tolerance?

Loving the return to the fold though!

Sounds like you have a small leak - I've just checked the pressures on my Cayman and I've lost 0.5-1 psi since Dec.

Don't have TPMS, so I can't really help you; have you tried pumping them up and resetting the TPMS?

Sounds like a small leak, just go to the local tyre place and they will check it for you, likewise on he TPMS.

I got my 2.7 Cayman last September and the TPMS does vary a little - certainly when cold and on short trips - but does settle down. However I do see variances on the pressures in each tyre (only marginal) but when I check them with a pressure gauge they're all correct so I tend to ignore the (small) differences. Not sure how accurate they're supposed to be but I figured just there as a guide. Definitely sounds like you have a small leak in the tyre losing pressure though.

On your third paragraph: I think that must be normal. I've seen the same "behavior" with two Porsches. The tires respond to changes in ambient temps even when parked in the garage at home. Also, the readings vary from what the TPM reads and what one's hand-held tire hand-held device.

Thanks darkmatter- I knew it must be somewhere! It's difficult when using a tablet as you can't 'hover' :)

All others- thanks for the advice. I'm not too worried about the TPM, but the OS rear is losing about 2PSI every 10 days so I think I will get it checked.

I thought you might be using a tablet/ipad. Are you able to do the equivalent of hover with those devices?

As the old advert said...... "It's a lot less bovver with a hover" :)

I am using an 8" Windows tablet (but not all the time!); there is no equivalent of hover- tapping the link opens the Forum list, and tapping/holding opens the browser context menu. However I can use a 'virtual' mouse pointer so will use that on this board in future.

Thanks
