Where do I find the chip on an '88 924S, so I can see what's currently fitted?
(sorry all, if this post is developing into an advert for Promax. I don't think any of us intended that, but Andrew has most of the answers. I'll take it off line if you wish.)

When it's done (soon), I'd be willing to use it as a testbed for the chips. What I've got in mind is taking my 944S up to somewhere like Jamsport and doing 3 runs.
Standard chip / Blitz Chip / Promax chip.
This would give a useful set of figures, which could also be directly compared with those taken at our 944 Jamsport day.
Andrew, are you interested ?

Potentially;
Session 1 Standard Exhaust & (K&N panel) Intake (a) Standard Chip (b) Blitz Chip (c) Promax chip
Session 2 ESS Stainless exhaust & (K&N panel) Intake (a) Standard Chip (b) Blitz Chip (c) Promax chip
Session 3 ESS Stainless exhaust, ESS Induction kit (a) Standard Chip (b) Blitz Chip (c) Promax chip
I hope to arrange this at Jamsport so that we have direct comparison to figures obtained during our recent 944 RR test day.
This should be a good exercise to show real world improvements (or otherwise) of the chips, exhaust and induction modifications in combinations.
My 944S engine is currently standard (except K&N panel filter), but with new chain / belts / knock sensor / waterpump etc. I will also have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and fuel rail gauge fitted to allow slight fuel tweeking if required.
I'm not expecting it will set the world on fire performance wise, but result should ultimately be the right side of 200 BHP. Anticipated during October.....
but result should ultimately be the right side of 200 BHP
I would have thought +10 bhp should be do-able with chip and exhaust, even without Scottish air. [] Any less and I wonder if it would be worth it.
I don't know that the induction kit will do much over the K&N panel filter, but it will sound much better under load.
Obviously the extra power will be essential to off set the weight of the vinyl graphics.
