what is this?

Hello All,

Noticed this puddle today - any ideas what it is? Seems to be coming from the drivers side, possible from above the header pipes as its dripping off them. Thanks in advance.

Could be aircon pipe, we had an O ring fail just behind the driver's door (UK) and had a puddle of fluid that looked luminous due to the ultraviolet dye added to allow leaks to be found using UV lights.

If the car was put away wet ... could just be `salted` rainwater reacting with the component metallurgy

I have had this on a previous Cayman R

Defiantly looks like A/C fluid to me, the compressor and a few joints are right above there and it should be easy to identify the culprit. Hopefully just an ‘O’ring.
Good luck & keep us informed.
Andy

Thanks guys - I kinda thought AC fluid, but didn't want to believe... I already did the two pipes under the sill and both condensers. I guess its something to do with the compressor. Car was dry when last put away. I had a rough look but couldn't see anything. Will get the car up in the air and let you know what I find.

Quick update. I cleaned the floor when I originally saw this issue. No further puddles appeared. I needed to do some other jobs on the car, so got her up on axel stands. I couldn't see any fluid above the header pipes at all. No sign of leaks around the AC compressor or pipes - although it is very difficult to say with confidence. I needed to warm the engine and didn't see anything leaking at all. AC is still running super cold, so I can only assume it was moisture condensing on the exhaust as the weather has been very damp with temps up and down. I think I will park the car the other way around so that the engine isn't up against the garage door.
