What make of Brake Pads to fit?

Dekker

New member
I've had to return some parts to Eurocarparts and as I've just been working on the front suspension I noticed that the front pads were getting worn down so need some advice as to what make to get.

Pagid or Textar are the makes on offer as exchange for the wrong parts sent.

I do a fair amount of fast road and average 3 track days a year.

Any advice appreciated.

David

Which Pagids? Pagid pads are fine, but they have many different compounds. I run pagid yellows in the NGT which a bit harsh for the road. I'm sure they do another suitable pad though. worth checking their website, as they list the different pads and their applications.

I suspect that if the Pagids are about 50 quid a set they're the bog standard road Pagids. I've tried these and found them to be pretty cr*p. Very squealy and overheat on track very quickly. The same price Textars are much, much better and are basically the OE pad for the 964.

Pagid RS29 pads are what you need. High performance with longevity and kind to the rotors.

Can get you price and availability if you want.

Regards,

Clive.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The deal was with Eurocarparts as I'd had to use a credit from returned parts.

I went with the Textar at £79 which seemed reasonable when I googled other outfits.

Cheers, David.

Textar was probably the best call, better than Pagid Im sure,..................guess we didnt show on Google though..[;)]

You were beaten on price by £5 because Eurocarparts do free shipping.

Hi Clive, I'll be at the Centre of Gravity if you're still going. Introduce yourself.

I agree. The OEM Textars are awesome on the 964. You will go through a few sets if you are using the car to its potential and on the track. The Pagid Yellows give you 100% confidence and will wear much less but the downside is that they will wear away your disks quicker than the OEM pads and they are much pricier.
