I have an 86 oval dash 944 and it had D90 wheels should i declare these to the insurance company or were they an option?

D90s were only standard on 944S2 and 944 Turbo. In '86 a standard 944 would have been on phone dials. Fuchs wheels were a factory option, but I'm not sure that D90s would have been.

Yes declare them.

D90's were on the '89-'92 944S2 (7" front, 8" rear), 90-92 944turbo (7.5" front, 9" rear) and some 964 model 911's (6" front, 8" rear).

Your '86 944 would have the early offset hubs so either your car has 30mm spacers to bring the wheels out or the D90's will be buried under the arches & less than ideal.

Better still, swap them for something nicer.

Phone dials are very Retro Chic and somewhat unloved so cheap. D90's have little to commend.
