based on the computer (how accurate are they ?) i am getting 28.0 mpg

mixed use around town as well as longer journeys up the M1 and A1

how does this compare ?

Thats way to high use it properly! [:D]

On average I get about 24mpg. The car is only used for weekend use so tends to be 'enjoyable' driving.

A real spitited drive it would see it drop into the high teens.

Did a long motorway drive the other week and it returned 32-33mpg cruising at around 80 - bloomin good for a 180mph car IMO

Computer says 17 point something mpg nearly all the time, gets reset at most fill-ups (although I've had it up to 24mpg on long runs) It's a daliy drive and I suppose I never spare any of those 320 horses ;-)

99.9. In my dreams.

99.9. In my dreams.

Especially as they are US Gallons!

For me, 22mpg average (used daily), but I have seen 30 on a long motorway run when I couldn't get much above 70. Worth mentioning that mine's a 3.4 tip - I would expect one or two more mpg from a manual.

Long term average 24.8 on the new engine. Managed 32 on a trip to York a couple of weeks ago but the motorway was pretty busy. As posted above, remarkable for a 180mph 4 wheel drive supercar!

80 miles to silverstone, 100 miles on the track, 80 miles home again. Averaged 24!!
Love that car

Have only had the car around 3 months but am pleased to be getting around 28mpg according to the electronic wizardry. Considerably better than my previous car - a 964 - which gave around 23 per gallon.

Got 34mpg last week in a 32 mile round trip from Bromley Kent to Leytonstone via the south circular and the Blackwall Tunnel and managed just under 33mpg coming back from Cornwall at a computer avearge of 69mph.

Wait for it

Richard, I thought I was bad... you need to seek out the larger of the three pedals, on the floor, to the right hand side...

last 6,000 miles is 25.22, cunningly converted from my litres per 100K readout - South African spec car! 75% commuting into central London, 25% fun. By the way this is exactly the same as the 2.7 manual Boxster I had last, and 10% better than a Saab convertible before that.

All the best

On 2048 mile trip to / from Norway last year, averaged 29mpg, despite keeping up a high average speed on the way back and an exploration to 260Km/h on a rare bit of not-too-busy-3-lane Autobahn.

I am managing 25.5mpg with mixed driving on a 3.6 tip if i feel the need i can get under 20. Before I reset it so the other half doesnt see;)

Can't you change it to mpg? On my C16 UK Spec there's the options to have
  • l/100km
  • mls/gal (USA)
  • mpg(UK)
  • km/l
Via the lever go SET --> Consumption - and you get the 4 options above (Page 83/84 of the manual)

With the given options I presumed it would be the same worldwide.

Over a fast 1100 kms from Faro to Bilbao last week averaged 10.3 km/ltr, which works out at just over 29mpg. More economical than my diesel XC90 (although the fuel is slightly dearer). Biggest saving though, is it restricts the amount of shopping the wife can do whilst back in UK!!

Mine's about 27-28mpg on the motorway but can be horrific in traffic. I've often got 12-13mpg when I've spent a decent amount of stop-start traffic. Usually get about 16-17mpg when the traffic is more free flowing though.
