What on earth are these?

Bumbling about in the garage this afternoon I thought I`d go through a plastic bag with bits in it that came with the car..............................

Part no 951.343.521.00

What on earth are they? Something to do with the dampers?

I got the description by searching the part number on Pelican Parts. I assume they trap the shock absorber cartridge into the strut leg (tower). Ask your OPC parts man to verify.

Is the part number definitely "951.343.521.00" I think it maybe "951.343.529.00"? This is one of four different boots that is listed.
You can always but them on the mantlepiece if nothing else.
Cheers,

If you don't fit the optional 'Walter Rohrl' shock tower caps then your tyres always look like they are too narrow for your wheels [;)]

Sorry, couldn't resist [:D] But seriously, they look like they are threaded. Are they the outer sleeve for the M030 shocks that has the height adjustable spring perch?

Paul.
Youve hit the nail on the head...
Thats exactly what they are...+ a pretty rare item they are too,, aparently.....
The M030 struts that they were fitted to , if you want to adjust the height , it could be very possible that they are now siezed up...+ trying to get some replacements is difficult.....Do you have the lock rings that should go with them ?????

My front shocks have a threaded height adjustment facility (very rusty too [])

yes the items are threaded (fine) like a damper casing thread

Anyone got a piccie of how they look on a car?

IIRC I have a coil over damper with threaded height adjustment at the base. Are you saying these go into the turret?
