What Porsche warranty to get?

My Porsche warranty runs out in January and I will not be able to renew it because my car is (or will be) 9 years old.

Anyone know of a decent alternative warranty?

Actually, can't you renew the warranty up until it's 10 years old? So it should be possible to get a one year renewal.

I recently purchased a 2-year extended Porsche Approved Warranty.

The "blurb" states:

A 12 month Porsche Approved Warranty can be purchased and activated up until your vehicle is 9 years old from first registration or has reached 125,000 miles.

A 24 month Porsche Approved Warranty can be purchased and activated up until your vehicle is 8 years old from first registration or has reached 125,000 miles.

Unfortunately Daniel, because you didn't purchase a 24 month extended warranty last year, it looks as though you'll have to look elsewhere for your warranty - Warrantywise perhaps? although when I checked them out they were more expensive than the PAW...!!

Good luck.

Hi all. My warranty ran out in September and I tried to take up a warranty with "Warranty Direct". It was £850ish for a year and sounded really good, - covered everything, even wear and tear. They wanted an inspection because I've done over 60,000mls. and that seemed to go well, there was no great problem found. (High tone horn u/s, oil misting round a sensor - NOT a leak) but guess what - they declined to offer cover. I queried this and even (I was worried by now!) got my OPC to check things out. The OPC didnt think anything was wrong and I sent this info to Warranty Direct, who didnt even bother to reply. Makes me wonder whether their underwriters have got cold feet about all 996's.

"Warranty Direct" - ok thanks, will not waste my time with them.

I've always had a warranty for my piece of mind, and it's always paid for itself. Once or twice a year something breaks and it's major hassle free with the OPW. They take it away. They bring it back.

Ummmmmmm

Danny,

Look into the AA Breakdown Repair Cover.... it covers 5 claims per year up to £500..... Battery, radiators, starter motor etc

Obviously not as extensive as Porsche one but as you don't qualify now, well worth the £75 on top of membership subscription.

I never renewed my warranty when it expired after my purchase & banked the ££'s for any unforseen expenses & have come out on top[:D]

Whereabouts are you Danny? If "up North" (but not necessarily) maybe the Hartech Lifetime Maintenance Plan might be appropriate.

I'm down south in Hertfordshire.

AA breakdown repair cover....cool, that sounds like a good option. I will investigate.

Warranty wise: ok, I will check them out too.

Thx

Warranty Wise just quoted me £1289.6 for 12 months cover. That was for the top level of coverage: Platinum.

Gold cover is : £959
Silver: £889
Bronze: £771

I need to read all the small print too.
