What price for an SC or 3.2

The car you had listed in your other post was at the top end of the price range for an SC or early 3.2 Carrera, but could well be worth it if it as good as the current owner suggests. The most difficult thing really is peoples take on 'condition' I looked at a number of suposedly good condition cars that were rubbish, and the car I bought was described more honestly by a trader as needing an amount of work to tidy up, but was a far better car than most I had seen.
My car cost £6800 3 years ago and I bought it knowing the problems I will have to rectify (well most of them[]), by the time I finish it, I will have spent more than a top priced car, but that the only way I could finance it and I enjoy making it a better car.
The best idea in my opinion is to decide approx how much you want to spend then how much work (if any) you are prepared to do/spend on the car - look at what is in your price range checkout cars and post info/pictures about the cars you are looking at on here or other forums & people will do there best to help and advise you what to pay for it or weather to steer clear.
I don't know where abouts you are but try to look at owners cars who aren't trying to sell it to get honest advise on what to look for - if you are near Gatwick you are welcome to look at my car, which I can show you some of the problems you don't really want[]
I hope this helps,
Cheers Dan

Thanks for that.
Budget is not really an issue for me to be honest as my 964 was in excellent condition and got a very good price.
I don't mind some work, but really want something to enjoy as a weekend drive as that is the only time I will be able to use it.
There are so many that look good out there, so I really must try and take my time and not let my heart rule my head as I am getting withdrawl symptoms since my car went on Monday []
Thanks
Mark

The best buy I have seen this year was a very fair 930 turbo going for £6k - it needed about £5k spending on it following a 2 year lay-up.
