What RPM is your car at at 70mph?

3800 is more like 70 in 4th!
I do have a second speedo which 70 Satnav speed only shows as approx 65.
Sounds like tacho or speedo is out by quite a bit unless you have VERY small wheels/tyres.
Suggest check with a satnav to find out which.
Most of the normally aspirated cars run at about 3000 at 70 mph.

As Oli says there are lots of variations - although he only used to going slowly [] in his S2

I thought 3800rpm was a bit high too...
Changing the engine from a 2.5 to a 2.7 wouldnt affect the RPM would it?

Well since Nick deserted for a beetle someone's got to remind you of the error of your ways!
Henry,
Coming home in my Caterham, that does 4K at 70 so a 944 at 3800 really doesn't sound right. Hopefully just a "reporting" error.

seriously though in the turbo 70 is below 3000rpm , I would need to take a drive and test it to give you a true figure, not that this would help much in regards to a 2.7... [8|][8|]
Ahhhh, you're taking on Appletonn's role? [&:]ORIGINAL: DavidL
