What saddens me...

... is this link.

Seems there was a free listing weekend on fleabay, so many uncared for 924's. If only I had the time, knowledge and space to take on in and do it up... :(

Might be of interest to other 924 enthusiasts though.

I loove the carrera 924 gt, but at 12,500 grand just a little bit rich for me to add it to the stables at the mo [:D]

I like the s auto...the first one in silver. Great cars, does it have the 944 engine? Now I was just thinking of buying another car[8|]

There is actually a very good chance that, at "E" reg, that car could have the 160 bhp engine then identical to the 944 as by then the 944 lost 3 of its 163. If only one had the dough. There was a cat C 944 s2 cab in need of a new hood and other bits and peices for £2500

Auto gearboxes v Manual - good or bad on the 924? Having only ever used manual gearboxes in cars I'm unsure whether to go for a 924 with an auto box...

My only concern with autos would be if they go wrong they're trickier to fix so you'd be looking for a swap and you don't see that many autos out there whereas you can pick up a manual car for under £100 now, or even free like this months PPC mag!

Of course as a hairy chested man I should also make references to autos being for women or those that can't handle a stick shifs but I'm far too enlightened for that.

yes it has a 2.5 litre 944 de-tuned engine 150 bhp

Maybe but it is still 3mph quicker than the 944 and the 160 bhp version (1988) is 6 mph quicker. Maybe they shoul be called '944 Sport' or how about '944RS' maybe there are some other ideas out there.

You can get a similar experience, power wise, by throwing one spark plug away.[:D]

Think I'll stick with the manual, haven't driven an auto before anyway, and prefer to be a bit more in control!

Would you believe I've been in touch with a non-member who has abandoned a 924S Automatic under the M1 junction 11 motorway bridge.

Apparently it went 'bang' and deposited all its oil on the road, sounds quite terminal, but who knows.
The owner doesn't seem to be in the least bothered about it.

It's been there since at least the 10th and was there still on the 20th.

Now that saddens me... [:(]

Got this picture of a huge crowd of sweating 924ers frantically dismembering that poor car and causing a gigantic tailback of rubberneckers.
