What should I sell my car for?

I've got to sell my beloved as I have to get out on the road more over the next year or so for my business and my C4S Cab is not the right car to do it in for too many reasons. I can't afford to keep it and run another car so it has to go for now. [:(]

I just can't work out what to advertise it for. It's an 0404 996 C4S Cab, I'm the 3rd owner, FPSH, 45,000 miles, manual, great condition, I'm about to T&T it. There's no SatNav but that's not a bad thing in my eyes. A few other bits. Ext Porsche warranty until Oct 08.

Prices seem to be all over the place at the moment. I need to get it moved on and its not like there's hundreds of them about.

Any comments/suggestions would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Tappers. Not sure on the spec of your car but the milage is slightly above the average for the age of the car. If condition is excellent then, taking what's on Pistonheads into account, I would pitch it at about £42,000 to £43,500 (or maybe slightly more depending on spec) and see how you get on.

I have a theory on cars like ours: if someone wants a car with the colour and the spec that yours has they're going to buy it - even if it is slightly more than another with lower miles but not the right colour, etc. I wouldn't worry about sat nav at all. Realistically it's just a bit of a nice toy - they rarely get used for what they were designed for and are generally spec'ed from new as they tend to make the dashboard look more interesting. After all, 911s are built for people who are serious about driving - not business men who like their toys and I think that culture still really exists.

All the best.

Adrian.

Given that we aren't too far away from Spring, is there any merit with Cabs to hold fast for now and wait improved seasonal market conditions?

I'm currently racking up 25,000 a year in my C4S! it was the only way I could justify owning one. They can certainly do it, you will lose on depreciation, but you'll always look forward to the business mileage!
