I have just bought a 71 911T but need a set of Fuchs for it

Is there any way i can wedge 8" on the rear or are 7"s the maximum?

Many Thanks

The standard size is 6" all round. 7s may fit on the back with careful tyre size selection and camber adjustment. 8s will not. My advice is to stay with the standard rim and tyre size, the car will be much more enjoyable to drive.

You can get 7 inch wide Fuchs on the rear but dont go larger than a 205 section tyre, A 215 section tyre will just about fit if you roll the edges of the wheel arch but you will not be able to lower the car. My 73 2.4S has 7 inch rears and handles better than with the 6 inch rears.

Robin with 215 and rolled arches would that be 60 profile?
Sorry Lee, Yes the 215/60 x 15 are as fitted to the 2.7 RS and are too big to easily fit under the rolled edge "normal" 2.4 wings.
I have 7 inch rears and currently run 205/65R15 94V Avons ZV5 on standard ride height and have no contact problems at all like I had with Pirelli P6000 215/60 VR x 15's, that used to rub the inner wing on full compression of the suspension.
I have 6 inch fronts with 195/65R15 Avon 91V ZV5. I like the Avons they grip well in the wet and they are a good price.
