What the Fuchs........?!

Will you stop looking at shiny things Nick

I need no encouragment [:D]

They look fab though do they not [:D]

If it's for the older cars then it's quite likely that our cars on the later offsets won't be able to fit them in arches due to them sticking out might be wrong though.

You're spot on.

They use the genuine 16" Fuchs inners with the early offset so will be useless for us later chaps [&o]

Yeah, I've tried fitting the fuchs from my 911sc on the S2 to see what they look like but they stick right out of the arches, shame as they would look soooooo cool [:)]

It is a shame really because I would of liked some for my car but knowing that they wouldn't fit I've not bothered and I'm looking for something else.

There are some fairly awful Fuchs look alikes doing the rounds on one or two backdated 911's so those would fit, but they're nothing like the ones linked to which not only look great but are very reasonably priced too - oh for an early 944 Turbo on Fuchs... As modern day alternatives go BBS LM's must be up there, I'll get a set one day, but it'll be a while [:(]

Ah yes BBS LMs......

Frazer has a lovely supercharged 968CS in black with gold centred LMs - very cool indeed[:)]

Hi Nick,
mmm, Fuch on a 944, sort of reminds you of my early 944 at Le Mans then, Copenhagen Blue met you in the ferry terminal car park on the way home.
Looks good to me, but then I'm biased.
regards to all,
Roger944

Hi Roger, of course I remember![:)]

Your car looked great on those Fuchs rims - just need to get a supercharger bolted on.....[;)]

My car has 944 turbo fuchs on it... I think they are 8's and 9's.

Although they look spectacular I am aware in the back of my mind that a 255 profile 16" tyre isnt the most common of fittings

lali, it was seeing your car on Pistonheads that inspired my original post[:)]

Lovely car[:D]

How exactly do Lindsay modify the 16" wheels to 17"? I would have thought they would have had to replace the outer rim and if that is the case then surely they can alter the offset? Might be worth giving them a call and make some enquiries.

Yes they fit a taller outer rim to make it out to 17", but it still uses the central disk with the 5 spokes which is where the offset is

Fuchs centres are always the same size, which is why the 15" ones look better than the 16" ones did. Of couse if they are being remanufactured any offset is possible, but if they lose the dish they look pants - consider a 5" one from a 914 for example; not a patch on an 8" from the back of a 930, is it?

The Lindsay ones look OK to me in terms of diameter, though a 2" deeper rim than was originally designed might look odd on the car. The Fuchs design is at its best because of the dish, hoever and I think to make them fit later offset cars would make them too flat face.

A pic of my car with 9" Fuchs in the rear instead of the stock 8" rims (and 7" in the front). They look different from the ones on the red car.
