What to do following independent inspection

Hi all,
I'd like some advice from those of you in the know, please. I've recently put down a deposit on a wonderful-looking 997 Gen.1 C4S cab at a highly reputable independent dealer in the south east. I've just had a thorough inspection carried out by Porsche Inspections, which highlighted no deal-breakers. However, it did highlight the usual wear and tear items; for example, half worn disks and pads, timing chain tensioner leak, tandem pump casing corrosion, coolant pump joints starting to fail, and very slight RMS leak, to name a few. I'm wondering how much of this I can expect the dealer to fix. The inspector said the valuation was pretty much spot on, as long as these issues were sorted out. I'm new to purchasing cars at this price level and I'd be interested in hearing what you think? I know I'm now entering a period of negotiation but am in naive in expecting all these issues to be address by the dealer?
Many thanks in advance.

If it is a very reputable dealer I can imagine it is one of 3 or 4 all of whose will likely want to fix everything before delivery. They don't get their reputation easily, they earn it.

Ask for everything and exp ct to get it.

Hi

Personally i wouldn't purchase anything that had any leaks, i would want those addressed, it's not like the leaks are going to get better over time & disappear. especially if your valuation is good with no pending issues.
Coolant pump joints starting to fail, again I would want this sorted.
Half worn discs & pads are consumable as radiators so expect to have to replace them anyway at some point in the future so i wouldn't expect these to be replaced for free.

Corroded Tandem pump is normal imo for this age of car & is part of what you get, again as long as it's not leaking it's just a will probably need doing at some point in the future.

I'm assuming your deposit & commitment to buy was based on a clean bill of health. So the question is what is the cost of the work? i don't think it's unreasonable to expect the Leaks to be rectified or the price to be adjusted accordingly.

Regards

Karl

If the inspector was Porsche inspections they would have rated them out of 10, items with a value of 6 and above need fixing value of 4/5 for discussion lower than 4 are really FYI.

Going by your comment on deal breakers then it looks like everything was 5 or less so you can try and negotiate as they havent seen the report.
- Brake pads of 5mm need replacing 6/7mm are going to last 5000 miles
- half worn discs are bad, 1mm lip is not!?
- a damp RMS leak unlikely a dripping one is a yes
- timing chain tensioner leak of 4 + needs doing
- corrosion unfortunately is pretty common place.
