What to do with no claims bonus?

I have 2 vehicles one that is insured by my work and my 944 that is on classic insurance.
I have a full no claims bonus that wasnt required when I insured my 944 on a classic policy due to restricted mileage etc. When I checked today with my insurers, was told that my unused no claims bonus would be lost if I continued on my current policy in the future.
I would be intrested in any advice to allow me not to loose the no claim bonus,I did consider insuring a cheap car on a basic car insurance to allow my no claims to continue[8|]

Alan,
I would not worry about it. Although the above is the "offical line" and they won't offer you a "no claims bonus" on a new policy if you don't have one to "transfer", they will in practise offer you something like an "introductory" bonus to get you in providing you can show evidence of driving and not claiming (eg company policy).

My 993 was an extra car and my insurance company would not give me the 75% no claims I have on my other policy, but then immediately volunteered to give me a 73% "intro" discount!

I think most insurance companies will offer you an incentive to get your business, particularly if you have a clean record. The other ploy is to play one company off another, that can sometimes work [:D][:D][:D]
