Hi everyone,

Just purchased my first boxster and I'm picking it up next week. What type of unleaded is beneficial to the car. Is it ok to stick with 95 ron unleaded or use super unleaded. Does it make a difference to the fuel economy or smoother running>

Comments would be much appreciated.

I always use Shell (V - whatever it's called this year)in all our Vehicles.

It's very noticeable (performance -extra zip) in the Smartarse.

I have also used Shell Vpower since day one. I compared it with 95RON in my last car and found it cost effective on the extra MPG with extra response an added bonus.

Anyone had a Shell Schumacher card yet?

Paul

I frequently drive to Teeside and back to see family.
At home (Oxfordshire) I always use V power.
For the return journey I can't get V power so just use 95 ron.
I get exactly the same MPG in both directions- though I still stick to V power when I can get it.

shell v gives me an average of 30-40miles per tank-thats about 10-15%i reckon-and it feels zippier too!

V-Power for me too but not for the extra performance or responsiveness bit of the marketing but for the additives bit of the marketing which is suppose to keep my engine clean... not found mpg that different on motorway mileages but for city use I do get more mileage out of V-Power than 95 Ron or Tesco 99...

Edit: If you open your fuel flap Porsche have a sticker with a recommendation for you i.e. 98RON recommended.

Thanks all for the advice, its much appreciated, I think I will be using shell V-power as I only have a shell garage round the corner from me.
