Hi guys, I will need a new set of tyres all round in the New Year, after getting quoted a ludicrous £320 for Pirelli Zero's today, I just wondered what tyre places will give me a discount with my PCGB card? Also any recommendations on best tyres for C2 S would be greatly appreciated.

I am also in need for new tyres for a turbo in the New Year.
Blacks have 305x30ZR19 (102y) N1 P zero rossos for £278 incl fitting and for £183 incl fitting for the smaller fronts 235 x 35
I am note sure why mine has (102Y which seems to be a reinforced model) on the rear and (87y) on the front, when the car has been with me since nearly new (well 1800 miles). Is that normal?

I think those are excellent prices, you're unlikely to beat that on 19" tyres.

Yep, those numbers are the load index and refer I believe to the weight each tyre can safely carry. The rears are bigger and hence carrry more, reinforced is normal too on these, cars are getting heavier after all.

Elite direct.com in Rainham have these for £252.94 and £172.44 fitted respectively. Shame they are so far from me! Happy Christmas.

Forgive this if it's a niaive question, but is it possible to get the correct tyre pressure monitors fitted (along with the tyres) at an independent tyre dealer?
Are you on about the Porsche TPM or an aftermarket ? retrofitted ?
I've had tyres replaced at an Indipendant supplier, I don't think they changed the valve as that is the TPM

Hi All
I recently bought two new Michelin Pilots for my Boxster through Black Circles. They were the cheapest I could find and even cheaper when I quoted the PCGB discount code. This is CCPCGB178. I obtained this from club office and on quoting it got a further 5% off. I believe they give a bigger discount still on 4 tyres.
Cheers

Thanks for all the recommendations I will get on to them tomorrow.
The other thing is what make of tyres to fit I was going to go with the P Zero Rossos but after reading on other Porsche forums they say the best ones are Michelin Pilot Sport. This is due to the fact they last a lot longer and grip better - all you need from a tyre really.
Just wondered what people's preferences are on here, is there really a big difference between the different firms, as long as they are N rated?

Hi,
I am looking to get a set of rear tyres for my 996TT and was surprised there wasn't much forum activity on the topic of buying tyres, so did a little research and came up with the same guys as you have all recommended in this thread, except I found Kwik Fit of all companies beat Elite and Blackcircle with fitting included local to you.

I'm actually more fussy about the place I take my wheels to than the actual cost (to a certain degree)
Cheaper tyres never offset the cost of damage to a scuffed rim..
I've only once ever put my Porsche wheels near an Kwik fit type outfit and was not so happy to see the rim face down on the floor, let alone the chatter of the airgun doing the nuts back up!!
They even make a right mess of fitting my van tyres []

It's always a pain to get asked why a 944 owner has a sticking throttle cable. "Have you had tyres fitted?" "Yes, why?" "Did they use the proper jacking point, or the front point meant for a 4-post lift that distorts if you jack it up?" []
Or, worse, they use the gearbox to jack up the rear....[]
It always seems to be the chains that have staff with no knowledge or care.
