What tyres size?

Hi All

I have a 1983 2.5 944. Registered late that year so it is a 1984 model. It currently has Pirreli P6000 tyres all round but the back ones are down to the limit whilst the front are quite healthy. I need to replace the back ones to stay legal but am not sure which wheels have the correct sizes on now. Fronts are 205/60 15 and the rears 215/60 15.

Speaking to tyre shops the 215 tyres are difficult to get and consequently cost a bit more. I would like to keep the car as original as possible. It has what I think are the standard wheels with the shiny rim and black centre but not the Fuch wheels. Does anybody know what was originally fitted and what a good alternative in modern tyre sizes would be even if I have to replace all 4.

Does anybody have a good set of anything for sale from a wheel upgrade?

The wheels will be "Cookie Cutters"

Original tyres were 215's - you no doubt have 205's on the front becuase as you say, 215's are an odd size nowadays, although www.blackcircles.com have a selection.

You must have been driving pretty hard to get a set of Bakelite Pirelli P6000's down to their wear limits in only 23 years[:D]
