My own S2 now has 180k miles on it, was dyno'd at 211bhp before christmas and was only 2% down on a compression test last summer so I think it's fair to say that with regular servicing these engines can go on for years (kiss of death now [8|]). Any S2 with this sort of mileage will not be on it's original shocks, water pump, cam chain, brake callipers etc and will have had most consumables replaced many, many times in it's life

I would imagine that bulge has maybe moved on a bit in the last 5 years

Buy on condition rather than mileage.

A little oil usage doesn't seem to be a problem either. Mine started burning about 1 litre every 12k miles about 50K miles ago. Not sure if it has got worse or not recently.
I would be more worried about rust then mileage.

An engine with 200k motorway miles on it will be in much better condition than a car that has clocked up 80k's worth of short journeys.
Ohhh Noooo My thing is a right heap of dung with 51k on it ..... [:'(]
