What would your car cost today?

Cool wee tool!

Unbelievably, my '88 Lux (then £28k) would now be £50,400.

In perspective, a new 911 Carrera (base) is £56k.

Bargain!

I bought a house in Aylesbury in 82 for about 13k. The calculator now values it at £31.2k I might just knock on their door now and offer that much cash for the house back[:D]

£13K Strewth, sheds on Shoebury sea front are going for more than that.

Apparently Beaky is worth £55k. I'd sell him for half of that............ perhaps.

I remember my Dad buying a Ford Escort Estate (new) in 1982 for £6000 (sienna red - or s**t brown as it was).

This calculator says it would now cost £14,400

This month's Glass's guide lists the equivelant new Focus 1.6 Estate at £14,232 ... not far off... but then that is list price before the usual Ford 30% discount ;-)

my 1986 M5 was £37K amd would now be £74K which isnt far off the mark i dont think

What if amazing now with modern cars is just how much you get for your money relative to 10-15 Years ago Typical family car nowabays is probably specced better than so called "qualitycars" back then
