What's it worth

Hi All

I was wondering if you guys can provide some guidance. I am enjoying owning a gen 1 manual 997 turbo. I don't get to drive it as much as I would like and it's only on 21k miles as a 2006 '06. (Bought 3 years ago on 11k miles). Also I don't get to frequent the forum as much as I used to - glad to see it is still thriving :)

I keep my eye on how much the OPC's are asking for good examples now that they retail older cars and the values are going up. I see a 38k mile 2006 '56 for £69,995 and a 11k mile 2008 '08 for £90k.

I wasn't thinking to sell, but if I continue not to drive it much, maybe that is what I should do. Any suggestions what I can ask for mine as a reluctant private sale? Full PC service history, serviced last year. 2 year PC warranty applied this year. Factory spec.

Many thanks

Looks beautiful. Red is rare and not to everyone's taste but it has its fans and i am one. Manual Mezger appears to be the sweet spot for Gen.1 car values. Assuming the 21k miles is reflected in its near-new interior with that lovely new smell still evident and assuming its in super 21k mile condition i would expect to see an OPC retail it for ~£80K and a specialist retail it for £75K+

You could expect to get £70K+ from both dealers. Privately i suspect you'd see a similar number.

If you bouth it 3 years ago i bet you paid £55K from an OPC or £50K from an indy. Am i far wrong?

There are similar cars priced at specialists around £65k, you can try around that price as its a rare colour, If you want to sell then lower it down by a few k.

Thanks guys. That's really helpful. I expect I will sell up with say, 12 months of warranty left which will be around May next year. Will enjoy it a bit more until then and make my mind up ;-)
I think the 997 is a real sweet spot and I can't think of another car that is tempting me out of this one. If I switched to something more suitable as a daily driver I know it won't excite as much. The 997 Turbo can be a daily driver very adequately, it's just I wouldn't choose to put this particular example through that wear.
