What's it worth?

Hello I've been on the 944 forum where they are talking about car prices going up. Then one said about a 964 valued at 100k. My insurance is coming up. I've go a 930 super sport targa with 19kmiles on it, it's white with White leather I've had the paint thickness tested and it's all factory apart from the bonnet. It is completely immaculate. I get it servied at porsche reading where the guy who collected it said it the best one he has seen apart from the ones that come from the porsche museum. I'm not going to sell it but I want to make sure it fully insured if something happens.

A turbo targa is quite rare thing as far as I Know not many RHD ones shipped to Uk . Guess £50K-70 but with such low miles could be more . Even the 3.2 Supersports are edging up to £50K + The world has gone mad and what goes up usually comes down we wait and see put some miles on it and enjoy it wont affect the value that much . how a pic or two

Can't understand why people continue to ask, "Whats it Worth", rather than just getting it valued. For insurance purposes you need a professional valuation (£35 from John Glynn) which will confirm exactly what its worth. That wasn't to hard was it

thanks for your replies I've tried to uploand photos but struggled I expect Beaky can help! with something not hard like that

What is something worth? Generally it's the price one person is prepared to pay and another prepared to accept. The current market is deceptive because a lot of cars are being advertised at ambitious prices and not selling, but other owners are using these figures to gauge the values of their own cars. If you take 3.2s, 964s and 993s, demand is healthy, but it's only the very best examples in certain specific specifications (particularly Coupes) and mileages that seem to be selling quickly at notable prices. Insurance valuations are a bit different, they normally reflect the amount you would require to go into the market and replace with something similar.

My query is whether the 911 in question is a 930 targa or a 3.2 Carrera SSE targa; it makes a difference to the current value.

Hello John a super sport is a SSE they as far as I know the same thing. I think supersport was the slang name until 86 when porsche called them that too.

Sorry Greg; what I was trying to establish was whether it is a 911 turbo (930) or a normally aspirated 911
